HyperShot’s original source is offered under the MIT License. The source publication is being prepared. Its license permits use, modification and redistribution, including commercial use, with the copyright and permission notice preserved.

Third-party software

Dependencies retain their own licenses. Website notices: React, React DOM, Lucide, Manrope and Space Grotesk. Notices ship with the apps and will accompany the source. The Windows media stack includes MPL-2.0 and LGPL components; those license obligations also apply when redistributing them.

No subscription

All screenshot, recording and editing features in the current release are free. No purchase, subscription, account or activation is required.

Use responsibly

Record content you have permission to capture and respect other people’s privacy. The software is provided as is, without warranty, as described in the MIT License. Keep backups of important work.

Release status

The Mac community download is development-signed and not Apple-notarized. The Windows preview is not Authenticode-signed and needs physical Windows hardware testing. Check the download guide and requirements before installing.
